The Metabo SSD18 has a top IPM of 3300 IPM. The average top IPM of 18 volt cordless impact drivers is 3016 IPM. An impact driver delivers blows in a rotational way as opposed to a hammer drill which delivers blows into the work. The higher the IPM of a cordless impact driver the faster a screw or bolt will be installed or removed.

The Metabo SSD18 has a power rating of 1416 in/lbs. The average power rating of a 18 volt cordless impact driver is 1369 in/lbs.
