The Porter-Cable PCL120IDC-2 has a top IPM of 2400 IPM. The average top IPM of 12 volt cordless impact drivers is 2955 IPM. An impact driver delivers blows in a rotational way as opposed to a hammer drill which delivers blows into the work. The higher the IPM of a cordless impact driver the faster a screw or bolt will be installed or removed.
