The Three Best 18-volt Impact Drivers

What is a Cordless Impact Driver?

Makita-BTP140 cordless impact driver A cordless impact driver is like a a battery operated drill, but as the drill turns it delivers a series of blows (impacts) in the same direction as the drill rotates. You can think of it as placing a wrench on a rusty bolt and then taking a hammer and giving it a sideways blow. This is different from a hammer drill which is like a chisel and hammer. You slowly rotate the chisel as you hammer downward into the work.
